Child Protection for Faith-Based Organisations

Participants will gain essential knowledge and practical guidance to help safeguard children and respond appropriately to concerns.

The Japanese capitulation in August 1945 left Indonesian Protestant nationalists lamenting the lack of any guidance from their pre-war mission churches about Christian participation in resisting the return of the colonial regime. With the declaration of Independence three days later, in a political vacuum, Indonesia led the process of decolonization in South Asia and Christians had to sort out for themselves a way through conflicting ideologies, factional rivalries, suspicion and distrust. This study looks at how two men responded to the same
challenge quite differently: Lieut. General T. B. Simatupang, a military planner, strategist and diplomat, and Lieut. General Djamin Gintings a charismatic field commander in North
Sumatra.

You may have recently seen the exciting news that City to City New Zealand will be launching in one month, at three conferences in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. If you haven't signed up yet, we would love for you to come and be involved in these gatherings. For Young Adults (Ages 20-29): Training in Mission Programme

The Council for World Mission (CWM) is calling for applications for Training in Mission, a programme that will take place from June to December this year in the Philippines and Singapore. This includes a programme of study towards a Diploma in Mission. The programme is fully funded by CWM. If you have any young adults in your congregation with an interest in mission this might interest them. Information can be found on the PCANZ website here. Note that applications close on February 27^th and need to be endorsed by the Assembly Executive Secretary. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information.

English Teacher, Talua Theological Training Institute, Vanuatu. Start date April or June 2026

An urgent need has come up for an English teacher at Talua Theological College, Vanuatu. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the position for 2026 is now vacant and needs to be filled, with a start date in either April or June. Minimum requirements are a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) or an equivalent internationally recognised TESOL qualification; or a degree or higher qualification that includes teaching English.
