Break the Silence Sunday Liturgy 2026
Warm greetings from the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC)!
My sincere apologies for any cross-posting, but on behalf of the PCC Safe Churches Ministry, we are pleased to share with you the Break the Silence Sunday Liturgy 2026, which will be observed on Sunday, 22 November 2026, under the theme:
“Ensure Justice, Protect Survivors of Violence and End Impunity.”
Break the Silence Sunday is an important opportunity for our churches and faith communities across the Pacific to stand together in solidarity with survivors of violence, raise awareness, and reaffirm our Christian commitment to ending violence against women, girls, and all vulnerable members of our communities.
This year's theme calls on our churches not only to speak out against violence but also to actively seek justice, protect survivors, and challenge the silence and practices that allow perpetrators to escape accountability.
We warmly encourage you to share this liturgy with your respective churches, women's fellowships, congregations, and wider networks, and to incorporate it into your Sunday worship services or organise a special observance on 22 November 2026.
Through prayer, reflection, and collective action, may we continue to strengthen our churches as safe spaces where survivors are heard, supported, protected, and treated with dignity.
We would also appreciate your support in documenting this important observance. If your church or women's fellowship participates in Break the Silence Sunday, we kindly encourage you to share photographs and a brief reflection from your service or activities with us for our ministry records and reporting.
You are also welcome to tag or mention the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC) on your social media posts so that we can acknowledge and celebrate the participation of our churches across the region. Please ensure that photographs are shared with the consent of those featured, particularly when children or survivors may be involved.
The completed liturgy is attached for your use and wider circulation.
Thank you for your continued commitment to advancing gender justice and promoting safe churches throughout our Blue Pacific Continent.
May we continue to break the silence, ensure justice, protect survivors of violence, and end impunity.
Vinaka vakalevu, and blessings to you all.
In Peace,
James
