International Rural Churches Gathering
As a Sequel to the IRCA Conference in Romania in July, rural church people from the Oceania region are gathering in early October at The Village Church, Bryndwyr, Christchurch.
Following a snapshot of the Eastern European context, with church and faith reaching back to early in the second millennium and persisting through the 20th century communist era, key themes from the conference will feature: Faith, Culture, and Identity, listening to two contributions from opposite sides of the world and reflecting on our personal and church community connection to the topic; and Equipping and Training for Rural Ministry, with potential for collaboration with new initiatives coming out of the Arthur Rank Centre in England. We will also have time for Talanoa/Family Groups, one on our context on the land and issues such as climate change and change in land use, a second on our communities and relationships e.g. with neighbours, newcomers and seasonal workers. It will also be an opportunity to network across the region and make future plans
The Sequel Gathering will run from lunchtime 7 October to lunchtime 9 October. In person and ZOOM attendance.
