Mission Catalyst Appointment
On behalf of the Synod Executive and Southern Presbytery Council, we are pleased to advise the appointment of Rev Charissa Nicol as Mission Catalyst from 01 July 2026.
A selection panel consisting of one Synod Executive and three Presbytery appointed members was tasked with updating the Job Description and overseeing advertising the role, receiving applications, and short-listing prospective candidates. A five-person panel (two elders and three ministers) interviewed the candidates and considered referee feedback before bringing a recommendation to Presbytery Council and Synod Executive for approval.
Charissa brings a wealth of knowledge and previous experience to the Mission Catalyst role. She is an ordained minister with qualifications and expertise that span theology and education. Her experience includes leading a new mission initiative, chaplaincy, educational leadership, and working at KCML and Laidlaw College lecturing theology and coaching those engaged in local mission. She has a deep and thoughtful understanding of mission that is both theological and practical, with a desire to build strong relational connections with individuals and groups. She has much to offer congregations and committees across the Presbytery.
We look forward to welcoming Charissa to the role on 01 July. Details of an induction service will be confirmed in due course.
