Lead Pastor Ministry Vacancy

 

Hope Presbyterian Church has a vacancy for a full-time Lead Pastor.

Hope Presbyterian is a multi-site church situated in and around the Southwest of Christchurch New Zealand.  There are approximately 800 people in worship each week across its sites at Hornby, West Melton/Halkett and Rolleston.

We are looking for someone to provide the key leadership in our church’s mission and vision.  This role will have primary responsibility for:

  1. Pointing and encouraging Hope Church, and those in it, to Christlikeness, love of God and sacrificial service to our communities.

  2. Leading Hope’s Core Leadership Team. 

  3. Preaching and Teaching Development and Mentoring. 

  4. Maintaining relationships with the wider Presbyterian Church.

  5. Personal spiritual growth and welfare.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Has a vibrant, authentic Christian faith leaning on God’s strength and understanding.

  2. Is an experienced ordained minister with an evangelical theological outlook, with openness to the charismatic expression.

  3. Has outstanding and engaging preaching and teaching skills that reaches across the generational divide.

  4. Possesses strong leadership and people management skills expressed in a servant leadership model, and can operate effectively in a team environment 

  5. Thinks strategically and can cast a God-inspired vision that captures the imagination.

  6. Identifies with the values and ethos of Hope Presbyterian as outlined above and in the Hope Presbyterian Church Guiding Principles.  (Available on request).

  7. Has led a growing church.

  8. Preferably has experience in a multi-site environment.

Standard PCANZ terms of call, are offered, including seniority allowance.
